




Position Summary: Oversees the design, implementation, and coordination of safety systems and manages the environmental management system to eliminate unsafe practices and reduce resource consumption. Position Objective This position oversees the design, implementation, and coordination of safety systems focused on eliminating unsafe work practices, health hazards, identifying unsafe acts and conditions, and thereby generating corrective actions to reduce or eliminate them. It is also responsible for the plant’s environmental management system through the application of environmental management strategies such as reducing natural resource consumption and waste management. Responsibilities Supervise operational activities related to safety, health, and environment. Conduct facility walkthroughs to identify unsafe acts and conditions. Attend departmental meetings to identify internal customer needs regarding safety. Participate in emergency response teams. Provide employees with a safe working environment. Manage safety performance indicators. Comply with current regulations related to safety, environment, and health. Develop safety strategies to reduce accident rates. Prepare incident reports. Handle procedures with local authorities concerning safety, health, and environment. Support the implementation process of ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015. Support PASST management. Requirements Completed bachelor’s degree in Administration, Industrial Engineering, Safety Engineering, Health Sciences, or related fields, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within multinational manufacturing companies. Knowledge of asset security, civil protection requirements, social security, training and instruction for operators, reporting, and tracking toward zero accidents, etc. Mandatory knowledge of Quality Management Systems and standards such as ISO 14000, ISO 9001, ISO 45000, etc. Advanced proficiency in Excel is mandatory. Intermediate conversational English proficiency is mandatory. SAP purchasing module experience is desirable. Competencies Possession of DC-3 certification (work at heights, confined spaces, lockout/tagout). Experience delivering safety courses, talks, and events. Leadership. Adherence to procedures. Assertive communication. Teamwork. Negotiation. Results-oriented. Work Schedule: Monday to Friday – 08:00 to 17:00 hrs. On-site, Ensenada, B.C. Compensation Monthly salary ($30,000 – $35,000), commensurate with experience. Vacation days exceeding statutory requirements. 50% vacation bonus. 13th-month bonus equivalent to 38 days.
