Laboratory Assistant

Job Summary: Assist in activities related to laboratory or workshop internships, following established criteria and policies to ensure the proper implementation of academic programs. Key Responsibilities: 1. Collaborate in monitoring and developing internship programs. 2. Prepare and safeguard materials for internships. 3. Manage inventories and report incidents in laboratories and workshops. GENERAL FUNCTION: Assist in activities related to laboratory or workshop internships, in accordance with CEUX criteria and policies, as well as those of the institutions regulating such activities, by monitoring the appropriate development of each academic internship program and each entity involved in such internships. SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS: 1\. Prepare materials to be used during internships. 2\. Maintain a clean work area. 3\. Properly safeguard supplies for each internship. 4\. Assist in managing services for the collection of biological, infectious, and, where applicable, fumigation-related materials in each laboratory or workshop. 5\. Calculate materials and reagents used per academic year. 6\. Manage equipment and material inventories for each laboratory or workshop. 7\. Report incidents or malfunctions in laboratories and workshops to the Laboratory Head. 8\. Participate with the Laboratory and Workshop Head in quotations for materials and equipment. ***Requirements:*** Bachelor’s degree in Administration or related field. ***Experience:*** *Minimum of 6 months in a similar position.* Experience in document filing, writing, and providing in-person and telephone customer service.
