The Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) unit is seeking: The Production Shift Lead is responsible for leading associates in an engaged manner to achieve desired outcomes within an assigned manufacturing unit. Leads daily unit activities by guiding associates on a path of continuous improvement in their daily manufacturing activities to achieve desired outcomes.**Job Description** =================== * **Functions and Responsibilities** * Respond promptly to any safety issue or incident. * Lead daily production operations. * Ensure manufactured products meet established quality requirements. * Responsible for maintaining staff and training plans within the business unit. * Provide periodic, timely, and specific feedback to associates. * Provide a learning environment and challenge associates to meet higher expectations. * Implement BD Excellence components and programs within the manufacturing unit. * Ensure open communication flow between production associates and management. Represent production associates’ concerns to management, as well as management’s concerns to production associates. * Ensure fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies and practices. Work with associates to resolve issues and concerns regarding employee relations; involve Human Resources when necessary. * Actively participate in and support continuous improvement activities. * Collaborate with Production Planning to establish production schedules and monitor performance against the department’s schedule. * Track production metrics to ensure departmental goals are met. Communicate metrics and progress to associates and manufacturing management. * Train associates to be accountable for safety, quality, production, costs, cleanliness, and adherence to general policies. * Ensure safety and quality standards are met and drive production performance to meet objectives and programs. * Ensure compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures, and best practices, and with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures. * Perform other duties as required. **Education and Experience** * Degree in Engineering or related field. * 1–3 years of experience supervising personnel in a manufacturing environment. **Knowledge and Skills** * Organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines and high-level goals. * Ability to influence and build strong working relationships aligned with BD values. * Effective oral/written communication skills. * Proficiency in MS Office.
