**Brief Job Description:** **POSITION SUMMARY** The Sr Fabrication Engineer serves as liaison to management on manufacturing, quality, process and engineering related issues. The Senior Fabrication Engineer will be responsible for leading and optimizing fabrication processes within our manufacturing operations. This role will focus on developing and improving fabrication methods (e.g., welding, cutting, forming, machining, and assembly), ensuring product quality, reducing costs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in metal and/or composite fabrication, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles. **RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Lead and support the design, development, and optimization of fabrication processes and tooling for new and existing products. * Develop and maintain process documentation including work instructions, SOPs, and PFMEAs. * Implement lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase throughput. * Collaborate with cross\-functional teams (Design, Quality, Production, and Maintenance) to resolve manufacturing issues and ensure smooth product launches. * Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for process improvement. * Evaluate and implement new fabrication technologies, machinery, and automation solutions. * Support cost reduction initiatives through process optimization, material selection, and design for manufacturability (DFM). * Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA, etc.). * Train and mentor junior engineers and technical staff. **QUALIFICATIONS** * Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. * Minimum 5–8 years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing engineering roles, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role. * Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques such as welding (MIG/TIG), CNC machining, laser/plasma cutting, bending/forming, and assembly processes. * Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and manufacturing software (ERP/MES systems). * Familiarity with GD\&T, DFMEA, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing principles. * Excellent analytical, problem\-solving, and project management skills. * Strong communication skills and ability to lead cross\-functional teams. * Ability to work with others on a team to accomplish goals. * Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Welding (e.g., AWS CWI). * Experience with automation systems or robotics in fabrication processes. * Demonstrating Ethics and Integrity * Communicating Effectively * Building and Maintaining Relationships * Analysis, Solving Problems and Making Decisions * Drive and Sense of Urgency * Achieving Outcomes and Optimizing Processes, Procedures and Practices * Managing Change * Taking Risk and Innovating * Managing and Developing Yourself—Self Awareness **EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS** * Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. * English (read, write and speak).
