Our optical communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware, and equipment into an industry-leading, end-to-end provider of optical solutions, spanning the broader communications industry. Documents material, process and/or equipment to protect and contribute to Intellectual Property improvements * Proficient in use of statistical data analysis and DOE in process problem solving and process/product improvement * Identifies, justifies, and implements cost reduction, capacity enhancement, capital equipment and other improvement initiatives * Introduces new products and technologies * Meets all Environmental, Safety and Health requirements * Develops SME knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering * Tracks the effectiveness of projects and implemented cost reductions, using up\-time, cost, productivity, and other appropriate measures * Is a leader and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in process control/discipline, SPC, SQC, OEE, Designed Experiments, and other Performance Excellence processes (Green and Black\-belt skills) * Designs and/or specifies new equipment or modifies existing equipment to continuously improve process performance.
