**Job Description** The Laundry Presser is responsible for ensuring that all hotel linens, table linens, uniforms, and other textiles are perfectly pressed, presentable, and ready for use. They operate industrial pressing and finishing equipment, ensuring compliance with The Westin Resort \& Spa Cancún’s hygiene, quality, and presentation standards. Their work is essential to maintaining the hotel’s impeccable image and directly contributes to guest satisfaction and the efficient operation of departments such as Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, and Laundry. **Responsibilities and Duties** **Pressing and Finishing** * Operate industrial pressing machines, rollers, and steam equipment. * Ensure sheets, towels, tablecloths, napkins, and uniforms are delivered free of wrinkles and defects. * Inspect each item for stains or damage prior to pressing. * Fold, hang, or prepare textiles according to garment type and end use. **Quality Control** * Verify that each laundry load meets hygiene and presentation standards. * Report damaged or unrecoverable items to the Laundry Supervisor. * Ensure consistency in the finishing of whites and uniforms. **Equipment Handling** * Power on, operate, and power off industrial irons following safety protocols. * Report any equipment malfunctions to Maintenance or the Supervisor. * Clean and perform basic maintenance on irons, rollers, and steamers. **Operational Coordination** * Collaborate with Laundry Assistants to receive clean laundry and deliver pressed items. * Assist in sorting and organizing pressed laundry. * Prepare deliveries for operational areas such as Housekeeping, Restaurants, and Banquets. **Safety and Hygiene** * Use personal protective equipment (heat-resistant gloves, uniform, non-slip footwear). * Follow safety protocols when handling steam and high temperatures. * Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
