Job Summary: We are seeking a General Accountant to design, implement, and operate the accounting department, ensuring tax compliance and generation of reliable financial information for decision-making. Key Highlights: 1. Creation and structuring of the accounting-administrative department 2. General and industrial accounting, including inventory control and costing 3. Preparation of financial statements and analysis for decision-making We seek a General Accountant with experience in the food industry (ideal), capable of designing, implementing, and operating the accounting department, ensuring tax compliance, generation of reliable financial information, and establishment of efficient processes supporting business decision-making. \*Key Responsibilities\* 1\. Department Creation and Structuring * Design and improve the structure of the accounting–administrative department. * Define policies, procedures, and internal controls. * Implement accounting and administrative systems (ERP, invoicing, etc.). * Establish chart of accounts, cost centers, and recording rules. * Document key processes (procurement, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, etc.). 2\. General and Industrial Accounting * Record and supervise accounting in accordance with Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF). * Inventory control and costing (raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods). * Production cost determination (standard, actual, or ABC costing). * Variance and margin analysis. * Monthly and annual financial closing. 3\. Tax Compliance * Calculation and filing of federal and state taxes: o VAT (IVA) o Income Tax (ISR) o Withholdings * Preparation and submission of tax returns (monthly and annual). * Handling tax audits and authority requests. * Basic tax planning aligned with current regulations. 4\. Financial Administration * Cash flow control. * Supervision of accounts payable and receivable. * Bank reconciliations. * Budget preparation and tracking. * Liaison with banks and suppliers. 5\. Processes and Internal Control * Implementation of financial internal controls. * Automation of administrative processes. * Establishment of key performance indicators (KPIs): o Days sales outstanding (DSO) o Cash conversion cycle oo Accounting accuracy * Continuous process improvement. 6\. Reporting and Analysis * Preparation of financial statements: o Income statement o Balance sheet o Cash flow statement * Executive reports for management. * Financial analysis for decision-making. 7\. Team Management (if applicable) * Recruitment and training of accounting staff. * Supervision of accounting or administrative assistants. * Assignment of responsibilities and performance follow-up. Position Profile Education * Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting (degree conferred). * Preferred: specialization or diploma in taxation or finance. Experience * 5–8 years in general accounting. * Experience in industrial/manufacturing companies. * Demonstrable experience creating or structuring accounting departments. * Full tax compliance experience. Technical Knowledge * Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF). * Mexican tax legislation. * Industrial costing. * Accounting ERP systems (SAP, Contpaq, Oracle, etc.). * Advanced Excel.
