* Organize your workstation, including your order pad or automated ordering system. * Ensure that plates, glasses, stemware, cutlery, and utensils used to serve water, bread, or other food or beverages upon customers’ arrival at the establishment are clean and properly placed. * Properly set cutlery, napkins, salt and pepper shakers on tables to be served before customers arrive. Guarantee that all pre-service activities are carried out efficiently. * Greet guests upon entry and bid them a courteous farewell upon departure. * If assigned host responsibilities, the waiter must escort diners to their table. * Anticipate customers’ needs, ensure their satisfaction with service, and respond promptly and appropriately to concerns and complaints expressed by patrons. * Have thorough knowledge of menu items. * Inform diners about daily specials and suggest optimal dishes to order. * Provide customers with the menu and available wine list. * Take food and beverage orders. * Serve ordered food and beverages to the correct person at the table. * Organize and clean the waiter station during and after service. * Timely and appropriately manage customer requests, complaints, and feedback. * Remove used utensils, dishes, and glassware when customers leave the table and reset it for the next patrons. * Place used or soiled items in designated areas, out of customers’ sight. * Report thefts or damage to restaurant equipment or facilities to management. * Handle billing when customers finish dining. * Understand and adhere to company operational policies and procedures. * Maintain positive working relationships and collaborate effectively as part of a team. * Demonstrate high standards of personal appearance and hygiene at all times. * Assist in restocking ingredients, maintenance supplies, utensils, furniture, and other organizational equipment.
