A Mexican company with 35 years of experience in construction within the aluminum and glass industry seeks: **Operational Safety Specialist** **Job Description** We are seeking an **Operational Safety Specialist** to join the team at Cancún International Airport. The candidate will be responsible for **overseeing, implementing, and improving processes of the Operational Safety Management System**, ensuring regulatory compliance and risk prevention in airport operations. This role is critical to guaranteeing safe, efficient operations aligned with national and international standards. **Responsibilities** * Supervise compliance with the **Safety Management System (SMS)** across all operational areas. * Conduct inspections, internal audits, and ramp, runway, and critical-area walkthroughs. * Identify, analyze, and report hazards and risks related to airport operations. * Prepare AVSEC and Safety reports, as well as track events, incidents, and corrective actions. * Coordinate training sessions, safety awareness activities, and dissemination of operational safety culture. * Manage risk reports, safety performance indicators (SPIs), and regulatory documentation. * Collaborate with air operators, federal agencies, and internal airport departments. * Monitor compliance with regulations issued by **ICAO, AFAC**, the airport manual, and internal procedures. * Participate in investigations of operational incidents/accidents. **Requirements** * Education: Bachelor’s degree or engineering degree in aviation, transportation, safety, logistics, aeronautics, or related field. * Minimum experience: 1–2 years in operational safety, SMS, airport operations, or aviation (preferred). * Knowledge of regulations: * ICAO (Annex 19 – Safety) * Safety Management System Manual * AFAC regulations * Airport operational processes * Intermediate-to-advanced English proficiency. * Availability to work rotating shifts and on the ramp. * Experience preparing and analyzing risk reports (Risk Matrix, SHELL, HFACS preferred). * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems (preferred). **Required Skills** * Analytical thinking * Strong sense of responsibility * Effective communication * Ability to work under pressure and in field conditions * Attention to detail * Decision-making ability * Multidisciplinary teamwork **We Offer** * Competitive salary (based on experience) * Statutory benefits * Biweekly payroll * Career growth within the Operational Safety area **Work Location**: Cancún International Airport **Working Hours**: Monday to Friday, 08:00–18:00 hrs; Saturdays (half-day); availability for possible shift rotation Employment Type: Full-time Salary: $18,000.00 – $20,000.00 per month Benefits: * Savings fund Workplace: On-site employment
