As market leaders, six out of every ten freight railcars built in Mexico, the United States, and Canada feature Wabtec air brake systems proudly manufactured in San Luis Potosí. **How will you make a difference?** As a member of the Operations team in the Manufacturing and Doors area, in the Quality Engineer position, your primary responsibilities will be to lead, coordinate, and maintain Total Quality System improvement activities. This position will report directly to the Quality and QPS Management. **What do we want to know about you?** The educational requirements for this position are: * High school diploma or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in technical or engineering fields, with at least 3 years of relevant experience. * Knowledge of Quality principles. * Knowledge of Lean manufacturing. * Understanding of manufacturing processes. * Knowledge of welding inspection. * English language proficiency enabling reading and comprehension of English-language procedures and instructions, as well as conducting technical discussions related to manufacturing. * Microsoft Office and Oracle. * Teamwork skills. **What will your typical day look like?** * Lead and coordinate human resource activities focused on quality assurance and/or quality control to support assigned areas within the production process. * Carry out quality assurance-related activities within the Manufacturing and Doors areas, including raw material receipt inspection, and inspections before, during, and after the production process, as well as final product inspection. * Maintain constant communication with customers and suppliers to meet or exceed, improve, and sustain expected Total Quality levels. * Conduct analyses to resolve issues related to the Manufacturing and Doors areas, and track the assignment and closure of various nonconformities. * Participate in the generation, implementation, and monitoring of process improvements with quality assurance. * Generate and manage records associated with each project in the Manufacturing and Doors areas. * Qualify and certify personnel assigned to special processes such as welding, painting, and non-destructive testing. * Attend various audits related to special processes in the Manufacturing and Doors areas, and provide necessary support during internal and external audits related to the Quality Management System. * Validate new project processes and/or products according to the scope of each. * Work collaboratively with other departments and engineers to achieve quality objectives. * Control measurement equipment for quality assurance purposes and ensure such equipment remains calibrated. **What about the physical demands of the job?** The job is performed primarily in a combined office and safe workplace environment, with continuous interaction with production areas to ensure understanding of operational requirements, requiring the use of basic safety equipment.
