




Job Summary: Coordinate and supervise safety and hygiene programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, staff training, and risk management in construction projects. Key Responsibilities: 1. Manage safety and hygiene in construction projects. 2. Ensure regulatory compliance and prevention of occupational hazards. 3. Train and raise awareness among staff regarding workplace safety. **1\. Planning and Regulatory Compliance** * Develop, implement, and monitor the contractor’s Safety and Hygiene Program. * Ensure compliance with applicable current regulations (STPS, IMSS, Construction Regulations, internal project standards). * Coordinate with site management and/or external supervision to align on project safety criteria. **2\. Personnel and Access Control** * Verify that all contractor personnel: * Are currently registered with IMSS. * Have completed safety induction. * Wear complete and appropriate PPE according to their assigned tasks. * Control access to the site for personnel, subcontractors, and visitors assigned to your company. **3\. Training and Awareness** * Conduct safety inductions and safety talks (5-minute talks). * Train personnel on: * Correct use of PPE. * Working at heights. * Handling tools and machinery. * Safe procedures per activity. * Promote a preventive culture within the work crew. **4\. Field Supervision** * Conduct daily safety inspections in areas where the contractor operates. * Identify unsafe acts and conditions. * Verify: * Scaffolds, ladders, and platforms. * Signage and area demarcation. * Order and cleanliness (5S on site). * Request immediate corrective actions when risks are identified. **5\. Risk Management and Permits** * Identify specific risks associated with each activity. * Prepare and manage: * Job Risk Analyses (JRA). * Work permits (heights, hot work, confined spaces, excavations, etc.). * Ensure work is performed only under safe conditions. **6\. Incident and Emergency Response** * Act as first responder in cases of: * Accidents. * Incidents. * Hazardous situations. * Coordinate initial medical assistance and notify according to established protocols. * Prepare incident and accident reports. * Follow up on corrective and preventive actions. **7\. Documentation and Reporting** * Maintain up-to-date: * Attendance and training records. * Safety logs. * PPE records. * Inspection reports. * Submit periodic reports to site management or supervision. * Support internal or external safety audits. **8\. Coordination with Third Parties** * Coordinate with: * Other site safety officers. * Project safety supervision. * Subcontractors assigned to your company. * Ensure project safety guidelines are consistently followed. **9\. Preventive Authority** * Have the authority to halt work performed by your contractor if a serious or imminent risk exists. * Report repeated non-compliance to the company’s site manager.
