




Summary: Manages and monitors workers' compensation injuries, maintains medical records, directs dispensary activities, and develops EHS wellness programs. Highlights: 1. Manages, recognizes, evaluates and monitors workers’ compensation injuries for all employees. Reports activities, trends and costs to supervisor. Prepares reports to management. 2\. Maintains case histories, restricted duty progress history and other medical records. Liaison with State Labor Board, Workers Compensation, and other insurance carriers. 3\. Directs activities of dispensary/first aid supplies for all departments. Maintains cost analysis of first aid supplies. 4\. Develops, coordinates and provides training of EHS wellness program. 5\. Develops and recommends corrective action to control or reduce occupational health problems. 6\. Organizes and conducts training and educational programs in connection with management and promotional development relative to employee health issues. 7\. Works on related special projects for the EHS Manager and/or Safety Coordinator. 8\. Leads the Code Blue team with all duties including verifying credentials, arranging training, debriefing, documenting the incident, etc. 9\. Provides regular updates to Human Resources regarding updated injury reports, work status, and return to work transition. 10\. Evaluates and makes recommendations for the ergonomic needs of all Merit employees. 11\. Provides EHS/ergonomic training to production employees. 12\. Develops, leads, and documents return to work activities in the Global Injury Log. 13\. Assesses and provides recommendations to address hazardous working conditions by communicating/coordinating with all levels of production, engineering, and management. 14\. Performs other tasks, as required. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS * Lifting \- Not to exceed 50 lbs. – local practice may apply. * Writing * Sitting * Standing * Bending * Visual acuity * Color perception * Depth perception * Reading * Field of vision/peripheral * Fine motor skills SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * This position requires a bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field and current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Utah, or applicable work location. * A minimum of four years of work\-related experience in a medical facility, to include training and instruction on health care issues in the workplace. * Ability to work well with others in a wide variety of cultures and meet deadlines in a timely manner. * Excellent problem\-solving skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Strong organizational skills and the ability to be self\-motivated and detailed oriented. * Self\-directing and excellent time management skills. * Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.
