Receives and provides specific care to organs, specimens, and products for study or other appropriate purposes. Participates in the cleaning and maintenance process of used instruments. Participates with the surgical team in counting dressings and instruments before closing the cavity and as many times as necessary. Participates in developing manuals and procedures, and in nursing organization.
