Work in a patient safety environment A private hospital is currently seeking: General Services Assistant Responsibilities: 1. Clean offices. 2. Clean patient rooms. 3. Perform thorough cleaning in critical areas—Therapy, Neonatal Units, Operating Rooms, Emergency Department, and ICU—as well as in patient rooms when required by the Epidemiology Department. 4. Clean outsourced service areas. 5. Inspect areas for indoor, outdoor, and critical-area (Therapy, Neonatal Units, Operating Rooms, Emergency Department, and ICU) fumigation. 6. Attend monthly meetings with staff as scheduled. 7. Maintain public restrooms clean and in good condition. 8. Keep the street surrounding the hospital swept and clean. 9. Inspect and control areas generating hazardous waste. 10. Collect biologically infectious hazardous waste (BIHW) from respective generating areas according to each shift’s schedule. 11. Collect hazardous waste for storage in the temporary warehouse and weekly washing. 12. Collect municipal solid waste and record its weight. 13. Deposit soiled linen into laundry bags placed in cleaning rooms. 14. Perform cleaning activities during emergencies (supporting staff) in other areas. 15. Support staff during high-workload periods (e.g., Operating Room). 16. Care for materials and supplies provided for assigned tasks. 17. Maintain cleaning accessory carts and waste carts in good condition. 18. Keep service carts clean and in good working order. 19. Comply with International Patient Safety Goals within the scope of responsibility, with emphasis on Goals 1, 5, and 6.
