Job Description and Activity Details Responsible for leading, maintaining, and supervising industrial painting processes on metal parts and structures, ensuring compliance with quality standards, production timelines, environmental regulations, and safety protocols, to deliver an optimal and durable finish that meets customer specifications. * Design, implement, and optimize painting processes (electrostatic, liquid, powder coating, etc.). * Maximize efficiencies while ensuring quality. * Optimize paint changeover processes. * Establish systems for the paint line (cleaning requirements, instructions, error-proofing). * Develop documentation (customer requirements, control plans). * Lead problem-solving activities related to the painting process and application. * Ability to adjust/program/troubleshoot systems. * Collaborate with the production department on production control and planning requirements. * Lead resolution of customer issues regarding paint application (e.g., color matching, orange peel). * Lead development of the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule. * Develop continuous improvement activities for the paint system. * Evaluate accuracy of production and testing equipment. * Study and reorganize material flow and operational sequences. * Responsible for monitoring and ensuring closure of corrective actions and non-conformities of the QMS within their own area. * Evaluate impacts of product design changes. Experience and Requirements * Experience with Time/Methods Study techniques. * Bilingual (English/Spanish), spoken at 90% proficiency. * Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field; Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred. * Action- and detail-oriented, with a strong drive for success. * In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and production processes and concepts. * Creative, with ability to apply modern technology in the production process. * Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. * Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. * Maintain and comply with all training requirements. * Willingness and ability to work varying hours and shifts as required.
