




**Health Sciences Faculty** **Emergencies and Urgent Care** **Position Objective:** Develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for the initial assessment, stabilization, and management of patients in urgent and emergency medical situations, applying up-to-date protocols and ethical criteria that ensure safe and effective practice. **Responsibilities:** * Identify the fundamental principles of emergency and urgent care medicine, as well as its organization and areas of application. * Recognize and assess life-threatening signs and symptoms, applying primary and secondary evaluation techniques for critically ill patients. * Apply immediate care protocols for cardiopulmonary resuscitation, trauma, respiratory, neurological, metabolic, and obstetric emergencies. * Properly handle emergency equipment and supplies, ensuring patient and healthcare personnel safety. * Provide individual follow-up for each student. **Requirements:** * A medical degree (MD) and valid medical license in General Medicine, Surgery, or a closely related field are mandatory. * A Master’s degree — including official title and license — is desirable. * Three years of teaching experience. * Familiarity with platforms such as Teams, Blackboard, or similar systems is desirable. **Competencies:** * Strong service orientation * Effective communication * Organizational skills * Ethics **Why Work at UVM?** We are Mexico’s largest private university, with 65 years of academic excellence, social commitment, and professional vision.
