Job Summary: We are seeking a meat department assistant to support product preparation, cleaning, customer service, and handling—ensuring hygiene and safety. Key Responsibilities: 1. Keep work areas clean and organized. 2. Assist in butchering and preparing simple cuts. 3. Serve customers in direct sales and resolve basic inquiries. **1. Preparation and Cleaning:** * Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, such as cutting tables and display cases. * Wash and sterilize utensils, knives, and butchery tools. * Disinfect contact surfaces and ensure a hygienic environment. **2. Basic Product Handling:** * Assist in butchering and preparing simple cuts under the supervision of the lead butcher. * Weigh and package products, ensuring compliance with business standards. * Place and organize meats in display cases, maintaining visual appeal and freshness. **3. Customer Service:** * Serve customers in direct sales, taking orders and resolving basic inquiries. * Weigh, label, and deliver requested products. * Support promotion of recommended or complementary products. **4. Inventory Support:** * Inspect and restock products in display cases or refrigerated chambers. * Assist in recording incoming and outgoing merchandise. * Monitor expiration dates and report products nearing expiry. **5. Basic Cutting and Preparation:** * Perform simple cuts—such as cubes, steaks, or portions—following specific instructions. * Assist in preparing marinated, vacuum-packed, or seasoned products. **6. Safety and Handling:** * Adhere to safety standards when handling tools such as knives, saws, or slicers. * Wear personal protective equipment (cut-resistant gloves, aprons, etc.). * Ensure proper handling of meat waste and by-products. **7. Packaging and Presentation:** * Wrap products in high-quality packaging that reflects the boutique image. * Accurately label products with weight, price, and additional specifications. **8. Teamwork:** * Assist the lead butcher with specific tasks, such as loading heavy items or serving more customers during peak hours. * Follow precise instructions to maintain efficient workflow.
