




Summary: The Electrical Design Engineer I will design custom solutions for medium voltage switchgears, participating in the entire lifecycle from selection to commissioning. Highlights: 1. Support production and quality control departments **Electrical Design Engineer I** The Design Engineer will design custom solutions to match customer specifications from selection, design, integration and commissioning of control components on medium voltage switchgears **As an Electrical Design Engineer I you will:** * Review and understand the design requirements for any custom medium\-sized switchgear and automation packages. * Participate in design review meetings as needed. * Detail and draw new parts as required. * Prepare electrical drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and bill of materials. * Select and integrate the following control components: * Current and voltage transformers * Protection relays and programmable controllers * Power supplies * Motor controls * Communication devices (radios, antennas, modems) * Design control layout and wiring diagram, program and commission controller (protection relays) * Update schedule and database for preparing production documentation. * Provide support to the production and quality control departments. **We are looking for someone who:** * Holds a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering or Relevant Discipline * Has Schematics Design Experience * Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills and has demonstrated presentation skills to diverse audiences * Has strong analytical design and quantitative problem\-solving skills **Ideally you will also have experience with:** * CREO CAD Software experience * Experience with Protection relays * Experience with Programming Languages * Change Management experience * Continuous improvement initiatives * Root Cause Analysis / Problem\-Solving strategies * ISO Certified Manufacturing Environment experience * Reliability Design Tools + Design For Manufacturability (DFM), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Geometric Dimensioning \& Tolerance (GD\&T), Design of Experiments (DOE) * Experience with Oracle J.D. Edwards Business System * Experience with Industry Standards * Related power distribution experience
