Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **Design Engineer** **Role Definition** This position will be responsible to provide onsite Design Engineering support for Engine Cylinder Heads and Connecting Rods components in a new machine\-intensive facility. Will serve as Liaison between the facility Manufacturing/Operations team (ACM) and the Design Control Engineering team (LPSD). Designs, develops, builds, and implements new components, products, or technologies. **Responsibilities:** * Provide onsite Design Engineering support for Project Azteca during validation, PPAP, and production ramp up phases of the project. * Provide onsite Design Engineering support post Project Azteca completion for Rod and Head Machining (2027\+). * Ensure Technical Engineering support to be on\-time with validations and PPAP approvals for Rod and Head Machining (in alignment with existing Project Plan) and guidance to effectively meet Engineering Drawing specifications and/or acceptance criteria in all manufacturing operations. * Day\-to\-day support to the team at Facility 6 for MRB (NCM disposition and issue resolution), PCN, CPPD, NPI, CPI, Continuous Improvement. * Will develop Product Design and Critical Thinking skills to continuously increase Design decision\-making responsibilities. * Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance. * Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents (MOPs). **Required Profile** * **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Materials, Aeronautics or related field) * **Languages:** Fluent English (spoken and written). **Skill Descriptors** **Effective Communications** * Experience working with global teams. * Experience with oral presentations and report writing to multiple levels of the organization. * Skills to communicate with others translating technical language into clear/easy explanations. * Skills translating customer feedback into touchpoints for action planning sessions. * Experience in efficient collaboration with cross\-functional teams dependent of excellent communication (e.g. coordination of Engineering Changes with PCC). * Experience in CPPD is preferred. **Technical Excellence.** * Knowledge of GD\&T and Engineering Drawings. * Knowledge of Caterpillar 1E specifications and/or global Engineering Standards. * Experience in machining process. * Knowledge of assembly process. * Basic knowledge of Casting and Forging process and common defects. * Practical knowledge of measurement equipment. * Able to perform CMM report interpretation. * Proven experience in medium to high complexity technical problem resolution. * Demonstrated outstanding Critical Thinking skills. **Product Design and Development** * 2 years of functional Design, Test, Analysis or Validation experience. * Knowledge of PTC Creo or similar software. * Practical knowledge of APQP concepts; PFMEA, Control Plan, SWES, MSA, etc… * Knowledge of Teamcenter, PRWB, Epix, REDI, ETQ is preferred. * Experience in NSI is preferred. **Additional Information** * **Location:** Ciénega de Flores, Nuevo León * **Work Mode:** On\-site, 5 days per week * **Schedule:** 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (subject to work extended hours if required (during production line implementation) * Active passport and USA visa are required.
