**Job Profile: Specialist Welder in Metal Structures** **Area:** Production / Construction **Reports to:** Production Manager / Welding Supervisor **Supervises:** N/A **Position Objective** Perform specialized welding work on metal structures, ensuring quality, safety, and precision in each assembly according to project drawings, standards, and technical specifications. **Main Responsibilities** * Interpret drawings, sketches, and technical instructions for metal structures. * Perform cutting, material preparation, and assembly of parts for welding. * Carry out welds using **SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and/or GTAW** processes as required. * Verify measurements, angles, and alignments of components before and after welding. * Ensure weld bead quality and finish meet **AWS D1\.1, D1\.5 or equivalent** standards. * Operate and perform preventive maintenance on welding equipment, grinders, and tools. * Comply with industrial safety regulations and proper use of PPE. * Assist in non-destructive testing and correction of welding defects. * Collaborate in on-site structure assembly when required. **Requirements** * **Education:** Technical degree in Welding, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (desirable). * **Experience:** Minimum of 3 to 5 years in welding heavy or light metal structures. * **Technical knowledge:** * Welding processes SMAW, MIG/MAG, TIG, and/or FCAW. * Reading and interpreting drawings and welding symbols. * AWS or equivalent standards. * Operation of cutting equipment (oxy-fuel, plasma). * **Certifications:** Certification as a qualified welder (AWS, ASME, or equivalent) is desirable.
