




The Cost and Budget Analyst is responsible for ensuring the company's financial health by optimizing resources and ensuring that projects remain within the budget framework. Typical Responsibilities and Functions * **Budget Development and Monitoring:** Design, prepare, and consolidate the company's annual (or project-based) budget, as well as conduct continuous monitoring to identify and report variances. * **Cost Analysis:** Perform detailed analysis of production, operational, or project costs (e.g., labor, materials, overhead expenses). In the construction sector, this includes developing **unit prices** and cost matrices. * **Reporting and Forecasting:** Generate periodic (weekly/monthly) reports on financial performance, profitability, cost variance (actual vs. budgeted), and develop forecasts. * **Optimization and Control:** Propose strategies for cost reduction and improvement of operational efficiency. * **Information Systems:** Use and maintain accounting systems, ERP, and specialized software (such as **OPUS** or **Neodata**, commonly used in Mérida for construction budgeting). * **Management Support:** Collaborate with management in strategic decision-making based on cost analysis. Common Skills and Requirements * **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Engineering (particularly Civil or Industrial, if the position is in the construction sector). * **Experience:** Typically requires 2 to 5 years of prior experience in cost, budgeting, or accounting roles. * **Technical Knowledge:** * Strong knowledge of cost accounting and budgeting methods (Zero-Based, Incremental, etc.). * Advanced proficiency in **Excel** (pivot tables, complex formulas) is essential. * Proficiency with ERP systems or cost and budgeting software. * **Soft Skills:** Analytical thinking, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, proactivity, and excellent communication skills to interact with various departments (Operations, Procurement, Sales).
