Patient follow-up and attraction strategies Job Profile Coordinator of Diagnostic Studies and Patient Development Job Objective Coordinate and perform ophthalmological diagnostic studies, support refractions and visual health campaigns, promote optical sales, administer treatments prescribed by physicians, provide clinical support, and execute patient follow-up and attraction strategies—contributing to the clinic’s sustainable growth, positioning, and profitability. Functions and Responsibilities 1️ Diagnostic Area * Perform studies such as:• OCT * Visual fields * Corneal topography * Pachymetry * Biometry * Retinal photography * Prepare patients for medical consultations. * Record results in electronic medical records. * Supervise equipment calibration and maintenance. * Coordinate scheduling of diagnostic studies. 2️ Clinical Support * Perform objective and subjective refractions. * Identify patients suspected of ocular pathology. * Timely referral to specialized consultations (glaucoma, retina, cataract, etc.). * Support efficient patient flow during consultations. * Measure intraocular pressure (IOP). * Prepare patients prior to procedures. * Assist with surgical workflow when required. 3️ Advanced Clinical Support * Assist physicians in administering intravitreal injections (preparing materials, establishing sterile field, and providing direct assistance under supervision). * Calculate intraocular lens (IOL) power for cataract surgery. * Perform and assist with ITRIS and other specialized studies. * Ensure proper preparation, sterility, and logistical organization of the clinical area for procedures. 4️ Specialized Treatments * Administer Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy for dry eye under physician prescription. * Explain procedure, benefits, and post-treatment care. * Document treatment progress and follow-up. 5️ Commercial Area (Optics) * Advise on frame selection. * Recommend lenses based on diagnosis. * Actively promote optical sales within the clinic and during campaigns.• Achieve monthly optical sales targets. * Follow up on orders and deliveries. 6️ Patient Follow-up and Retention * Conduct follow-up calls to patients who: * Have not completed control examinations. * Have diagnoses requiring periodic monitoring. * Have not returned after their consultation. * Schedule pending examinations. * Record contact attempts and outcomes in CRM or medical records. * Provide special follow-up to patients diagnosed during campaigns with relevant pathologies until they attend a medical evaluation at the clinic. 7️ Visual Health Campaigns * Actively participate in external campaigns. * Conduct screenings and refractions. * Identify patients with severe pathologies or clinical suspicion. * Formally redirect them to the clinic for specialized evaluation. * Follow up afterward to confirm attendance.• Actively promote frame and lens sales during campaigns. 8️ Attracting New Patients * Collaborate with marketing/social media staff: * Support creation of basic content (videos, testimonials, study explanations). * Follow up on leads generated via social media. * Contact prospects interested in examinations or evaluations. * Support internal growth and loyalty strategies.
