Ongoing training in cybersecurity and digital tools General Accountant — Meerida Ciberseguridad **Location:** Mérida, Yucatán (hybrid mode) **Employment Type:** Full-time **Salary Range:** $18,000 – $24,000 MXN gross monthly (adjustable based on experience) About Meerida Ciberseguridad We are a Mexican cybersecurity company headquartered in Mérida, specializing in managed detection and response services, compliance consulting (SOC 2, NIST, ISO), and corporate training. We serve SMEs and enterprises across Mexico. We operate with a 100% cloud-based tech stack and a culture of continuous improvement. Role Mission To manage the full-cycle accounting for Meerida Ciberseguridad, ensure tax compliance with the Mexican Tax Administration Service (SAT), and support executive financial decision-making through clear and timely reporting. Key Responsibilities * Full accounting for legal entities and individuals engaged in business activities. * Calculation, filing, and payment of federal and local taxes (Income Tax, VAT, withholding taxes, DIOT, annual and provisional returns). * Issuance, validation, and reconciliation of CFDI 4.0 (income, expenses, payroll, payments). * Bank reconciliations and management of accounts receivable and payable. * Preparation of monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement). * Responding to requests from SAT, IMSS, and Infonavit. * Support in budgeting, expense control, and profitability analysis per service. * Coordination with external accounting firms when applicable. Essential Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting or related field (graduated or near-graduation with license application in progress). * 3+ years of experience in full-cycle accounting for legal entities **and** individuals engaged in business activities. * Proficiency in SAT’s platform, CFDI 4.0, Tax Inbox (Buzón Tributario), and IMSS portal. * Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills. * Experience with accounting software (CONTPAQi, Aspel COI, or similar). Highly Valued Qualifications (Ideal Profile) * **Genuine affinity for technology:** You enjoy exploring new tools, automating repetitive tasks, and working 100% in the cloud. * Experience or curiosity about **web-based and productivity tools**: Google Workspace, Notion, Trello/ClickUp, Zoho Books, SaaS invoicing platforms. * Interest in **AI applied to accounting** (e.g., using assistants for reconciliations, data analysis, report generation). * Analytical mindset and attention to detail. * Clear communication skills, including ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. * Proactivity in proposing process improvements. * Confidentiality and professional ethics (we handle sensitive information). Desirable (Bonus Points, Not Required) * Basic English proficiency (B1+) to collaborate on accounts with clients in Canada. * Prior experience in technology, SaaS, or professional services companies. * Familiarity with fundamental cybersecurity concepts and secure handling of financial information.
