Joining us means joining a caring, responsible, and innovative company where more than 70,000 people lead the way to greener and smarter mobility, worldwide **Purpose of the Job** The Wayside Consignation role supports the Temporary Operations team in a practical manner by performing various tasks such as: moving and securing points (switches) of track equipment to allow safe train passage; installing required work zone demarcations and signage for Temporary Operations; assisting energy consigners with transporting consignment materials; and other related duties. **Responsibilities** * Operate point machines to change and secure switch positions to ensure safe train passage * Install and remove demarcations and barriers to secure work zones * Install and monitor safety signage within demarcated work zones * Comply with work permits for all assigned activities * Report to the Temporary Operations Manager on the actual positions of track switches at the site * Report to the Temporary Operations Manager on the actual configuration of work zone demarcations at the site * Report to the Temporary Operations Manager on any potential hazards identified on-site (e.g., barriers out of position, open technical room doors, unauthorised excavations, unauthorised work, etc.) * Conduct periodic inspections to verify the condition of work zones **Behavioural and Technical Skills / Competencies** * Manual dexterity and hands-on capability * Ability to apply ALSTOM processes * Teamwork orientation * Capacity to perform shift work * Willingness and ability to work overtime **Technical Skills and Competencies** * Knowledge of railway systems * Strong coordination and communication skills * Experience in manual work Alstom is the leading company in the mobility sector, solving the most interesting challenges for tomorrow’s mobility.
