Covia is seeking a **Ceramic Technician**, who will have a positive impact on the **Analytical Services** team for our **Central Laboratory** located in **Santa Catarina, Nuevo León**. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform and interpret physical analyses on industrial mineral samples, intermediate products, and finished products for the ceramic industry, based on internal policies and procedures as well as laboratory manuals, to ensure timely and reliable delivery of required customer data and information. **The selected candidate will have the following key responsibilities:** * Conduct ceramic tests and chemical analyses on raw materials, in-process products, and finished products, in accordance with established procedures and technical specifications. * Characterize ceramic raw materials, fillers, and plant products by comparing results against technical requirements and customer needs. * Prepare, reduce, preserve, and sample representative materials—including non-conforming products and reference samples—and coordinate shipments to external laboratories when applicable. * Operate, calibrate, and verify analytical and laboratory equipment (pH meter, atomic absorption spectrometer, X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, sieves, analytical balances, and bulk balances), ensuring result reliability. * Prepare and document technical reports and quality certificates, recording methodology, results, deviations, and conclusions from performed analyses. * Verify validity, storage conditions, and proper use of reagents, standards, and laboratory materials, complying with safety and hygiene standards. * Interpret results, identify deviations versus specifications, and promptly communicate relevant findings to respective departments. * Strictly comply with safety standards, chemical handling protocols, and internal laboratory guidelines. **Minimum qualifications required for the selected candidate:** * Industrial Chemical Engineering degree **(degree and professional license mandatory)** * **+2 years** of experience in ceramic materials analysis and interpretation * **Knowledge of ceramic materials** **What we offer:** * Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. * Opportunities for professional growth within a global organization. * An inclusive culture aligned with Covia’s values. * An organization that ensures fair, inclusive, and non-discriminatory processes.
