




Job Summary: We are seeking a Cost Analyst with experience in construction, capable of preparing, controlling, and adjusting budgets by applying knowledge of regulations and software tools. Key Highlights: 1. Experience in preparing and controlling construction budgets. 2. Proficiency in tools for cost estimation and cost control. 3. Ability to monitor costs and propose solutions. **COST ANALYST PROFILE** **Education:** Technical or university degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields. Although this profile may be more technical, academic background in cost management or project management is preferred. **Basic construction knowledge:** Must possess general knowledge of construction processes, materials, equipment, and industry techniques to effectively analyze costs. Knowledge of construction-related regulations, site safety standards, and regulations affecting costs and budgets. **Work Experience:** Minimum 1\-2 years in a similar role or in areas related to construction cost management or construction administration. This experience may be field-based or office-based, involving cost management and analysis for construction projects. Basic understanding of the various stages of a construction project—from planning through execution—with emphasis on budget control. **Estimation and Budgeting Knowledge and Skills:** **Budget Preparation:** Ability to prepare construction budgets based on drawings, specifications, and analysis of materials, labor, machinery, and other inputs. Knowledge of performing cost estimations for both small and medium-sized projects by evaluating quantities and unit prices. **Cost Control and Monitoring:** Skill in monitoring costs during project execution to ensure adherence to the initial budget. Identification of cost variances and proposals of corrective actions to maintain cost control. **Quantity Takeoff:** Ability to read drawings and specifications to calculate required quantities of materials, labor, and equipment. Perform unit price analysis and calculate direct and indirect costs associated with project execution. **Tools and Software:** Proficiency in Excel for spreadsheet development; OPUS; Neodata; AutoCAD for drawing review (although not strictly required, it is helpful for verifying quantities and materials); and other similar programs used in estimation and cost control. **Construction Financial Control:** Monitoring of construction progress to ensure costs align with budgeted amounts. Generation of periodic reports on budget status, incurred costs, and variances, submitted to site management or the client. **Management of Revised Budgets:** Ability to adjust the budget as the project progresses, based on unforeseen events or changes in materials, pricing, or labor. **Skills:** · Organization · Communication · Teamwork · Conflict resolution ability **Knowledge of Construction Regulations:** Must possess a basic understanding of local and federal construction and site safety regulations to ensure costs comply with current legal requirements.
