AS400 Programmer English: Intermediate - Advanced Availability to attend the office 3 times per week 1. Academic Qualifications and Certifications Degrees: Bachelor’s degree or engineering degree in computer science, information systems, computer science, or related fields. Certifications: Specific IBM certifications (e.g., IBM Certified System Administrator - IBM i), as well as training in system administration and cybersecurity. Additional knowledge: Certifications in complementary platforms or languages such as SQL, Linux, Java, or even database technologies like DB2. 2. Technical Skills AS/400 / IBM iSeries: In-depth knowledge of AS/400 architecture, administration, and programming, including experience with native IBM i tools. Programming Languages: RPG (Report Program Generator): Essential for programming on AS/400 platforms. CL (Control Language): Used for task automation and process management on AS/400. SQL: In-depth knowledge of DB2 (IBM’s database), including complex queries and database administration. COBOL: Although less commonly used, it may still be relevant in certain banking environments. System Administration: Management of configuration, performance, and maintenance of AS/400 infrastructure. This includes tasks such as user management, security configuration, job management, and backups. Integration with Other Systems: Experience integrating AS/400 with other systems such as banking applications, web systems, and other financial platforms. Process Automation: Ability to automate repetitive tasks using CL or RPG scripts. Security: Configuration and administration of AS/400 security, including access control, auditing, and encryption protocols. Backup and Recovery Management: Planning and execution of backup and disaster recovery strategies. 3. Banking Sector Experience (Preferred) Banking Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with banking software or banking operations management systems running on AS/400, such as payment platforms, account management systems, and transaction processing. Financial Regulations: Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting banking technology, such as security and data protection regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS). Financial Process Optimization: Experience optimizing transaction processing, reconciliations, and other key banking operations. Application Development: Design and development of customized solutions to support banking operations, such as accounting applications, financial reporting, and risk management. 4. Interpersonal Skills Teamwork: Effective collaboration with other technology teams, including architects, systems analysts, and support teams. Communication: Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to other departments (e.g., finance or compliance). Problem Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex problems, especially in mission-critical systems such as those in banking. Project Management: Experience planning and executing IT projects within a banking environment, including time, resource, and budget management.
