Experience and knowledge in power electronics (induction heating) preferred. **Job Description:** The primary responsibilities of the Controls Coordinator include the design, testing, installation, and maintenance of large-scale electronic equipment or machinery used in manufacturing at our GMC plant located in the FIPASI Industrial Park, Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico. Key responsibilities include: ❖ Designs and recommends control system architecture, products, components, and applications used in manufacturing processes; identifies and resolves system interface and integration issues. ❖ Evaluates emerging and new control and manufacturing technologies, adapting to specifications as appropriate. ❖ Validates control system functionality, including appropriate safety compliance, by designing and/or executing test procedures. ❖ Analyzes and resolves problems using innovative, creative, and industry-leading solutions. ❖ Prepares and/or reviews electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control drawings; collaborates with related engineering teams to evaluate components, materials, and suppliers. ❖ Ensures process integrity and builds data collection capability. ❖ Provides information to manufacturing, process, and other engineering disciplines by responding to questions and requests. ❖ Maintains equipment operation through periodic audits; troubleshooting; ordering supplies; defining and reviewing preventive maintenance plans; requesting repairs; and implementing process improvements. ❖ Manages supplier development and delivery. ❖ Demonstrates transformative creativity and innovation in work to benefit customers/end users. ❖ Delivers strategically important projects to completion. ❖ Provides support for control-related issues and maintenance and manufacturing failures. ❖ Supports implementation and improvements. ❖ Maintains WPO at the workplace and laboratories. ❖ Implements and supports solutions to prevent recurring quality-related issues. ❖ Manages program modifications for new equipment. ❖ Enforces AAM specifications for machinery construction. ❖ Manages projects per the project management dashboard as controls. ❖ Develops procedures for backing up programs of all new machines. ❖ Approves new machinery via control checklists. ❖ Participates in projects to improve equipment maintainability. ❖ Participates in run-offs and validation testing for new equipment. ❖ Controls laboratory setup procedures for the Electronics Lab. ❖ Manages electrical area cost control. ❖ Implements and manages improvement projects. ❖ Ensures maximum component standardization across equipment. ❖ Participates in reducing consumption of electrical parts by proposing improvements. ❖ Generates improvements. ❖ Reduces scrap. ❖ Operates PLCs, CNCs, Allen Bradley controls, FANUC, Mitsubishi, FANUC robots, and ABB robots. ❖ Supports customers from various departments. ❖ Provides robot activity backup. ❖ Records points in programs. ❖ Generates backups for machining centers. **Required Skills and Education** * Planning, Organization, and Timely Decision-Making * Facilitating Change / Driving Innovation * Managing Relationships * Leveraging Feedback * Gaining Commitment * Motivating Others **About AAM:** As a leading global Tier 1 Automotive and Mobility Supplier, AAM designs, engineers and manufactures Driveline and Metal Forming technologies to support electric, hybrid and internal combustion vehicles.
