The Warranty Technician performs hands-on testing and initial analysis (triage) of returned automotive electronic components. This role supports engineers in root cause analysis by preparing test configurations, executing diagnostics, and documenting observations. The technician ensures accurate data collection and contributes to overall WEC efficiency.**Key Position Objectives*
* Perform bench testing and initial diagnostics on returned components.
* Configure and operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and simulation tools.
* Document test results and observations for engineering review.
* Support preparation of components for deeper analysis (e.g., disassembly and visual inspection).
* Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration and availability.
* Support engineers in implementing standardized test procedures.
**Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)*
* **Accuracy:** Percentage of correctly identified root causes vs. actual failures after customer impact.
* **Cycle Time:** Average time per triage, disassembly, and analysis stage.
* **Test Result Quality:** Rate of approved/rejected protocols vs. findings validated during disassembly.
* **Effective Collaboration:** Timeliness and effectiveness in case handover to CQE/Engineering.
* **NTF Rate:** Minimization of "No Trouble Found" cases.
**First-Year Deliverables*
* Perform triage and testing on at least 300 returned components.
* Maintain 100% compliance with laboratory equipment calibration requirements.
* Implement at least one workflow or laboratory documentation improvement.
* Achieve greater than 95% accuracy in test data reporting.
**Qualifications, Experience, and Skills*
* Technical diploma or associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or related field.
* 1–3 years of experience in electronic testing or automotive diagnostics.
* Familiarity with basic diagnostic tools, handling of electronic components, and soldering processes.
* Attention to detail and strong documentation and organizational skills.
* Fluent English proficiency; additional languages are a plus.
