Continuous Improvement Technician

**What you will do:** ----------------- **Primary Function:** The OPEX Technician is responsible for managing continuous improvement activities through the development and implementation of Lean tools aligned with Eaton's Business System (EBS), ensuring at all times the achievement of benefits in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and inventory. This role is tasked with driving continuous improvement across all departments using the tools and processes established in Eaton's policies. **Essential Functions:** * Coordinate the Gemba Walk program. * Coordinate the 5S+ program. * Coordinate the Ideas for Improvement and Savings Program (PIMA). * Coordinate the internal Poka-Yoke contest. * Perform assigned audits on time. * Responsible for maintaining updated visual information displayed in the plant (Metrics, Charts, Lean Minute, LMSB, etc.). * Coordinate follow-up and implementation of improvement actions generated during Kaizen events (RIE), PIMA, Poka-Yoke, etc. * Coordinate data collection for monthly area evaluation. * Coordinate plant process inspections through the use of LSW and T-Cards. * Coordinate follow-up on implemented improvements to ensure sustainability. * Implement improvements to reduce safety risks and manufacturing waste. * Document and maintain up-to-date documents and forms related to the Lean Manufacturing department. * Execute strategies to promote Eaton's Business System (EBS) and the culture of Continuous Improvement. **Requirements:** --------------- **Specialized Knowledge:** * Knowledge of basic Lean Manufacturing tools (5S+, Standardized Work, etc.). * Experience in Kaizen events, RIE (desirable). * Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Solid Works (desirable). * Completed high school; incomplete or ongoing studies in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or similar. * English 50% (Reading and Writing). * Strong verbal communication skills. * Ability to learn and teach learned concepts. **Additional Information:** -------------------------- * Teamwork * Proactive * Effective communication * Leadership skills **Quality System Responsibility** * Perform activities in accordance with Quality policies (EQS). * Complete annual review of functional procedures. * Active participation in customer and quality system audits. **Additional Responsibilities:** ---------------------------------- **Continuous Improvement Responsibility** * Carry out continuous improvement activities within my area of responsibility through deployment and utilization of Eaton's Business System policies and processes such as ELSS, CIF, PRO-Launch, EQMS, and other applicable ones. * Actively participate in the idea generation program. * Identify cost-saving opportunities and work with the Operational Excellence department to execute savings projects. * Attend assigned training courses. **Mesh Responsibility** * Perform activities in accordance with MESH principles and methodologies to prevent accidents. * Actively participate in BBS. * Report any activity that could risk my safety or the environment of my colleagues. * Proper use of PPE. * Separate hazardous waste from regular trash. * Place hazardous waste (gloves, rags, etc.) into designated containers. * Keep the work area clean and free of contaminants. * Do not waste water or electricity. * Identify and properly dispose of all chemicals that could contaminate the environment. * Act immediately in cases of chemical spills. * Ensure the use of appropriate containers for disposal of hazardous waste (identify containers and containers that prevent spills). * Ensure proper storage of hazardous waste.
