Regulate oven, grill, and broiler temperatures. Remove food from freezer to thaw in refrigerator. Ensure proper portioning, plating, and garnishing of food. Maintain food records. Monitor the quality and quantity of food being prepared. Communicate any necessary assistance during peak work periods. Report excess food items to the head chef for use in daily specials. Inform Food and Beverage staff of rejected items and special dishes available on the menu. Ensure food product quality. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists. Prepare cold dishes. Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees; serve as a role model. Comply with all safety and company policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management; complete safety training and obtain certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets. Anticipate guests' service needs and respond accordingly. Speak clearly and professionally with others. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to other employees' concerns. Ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time. Reach above and below the knees, including bending, twisting, turning, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors. DESIRABLE SKILLS Education: Certification from a technical, trade, or vocational school. Related Work Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience.
