You have the opportunity to join our R&D team as a **Field Agronomy Technician** in **Puerto Vallarta (Mexico).** The **Field Agronomy Technician** position at Corteva will be responsible for applying fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides to agricultural crops: corn, sorghum, and soybeans. The job requires knowledge of proper chemical application and safety precautions, as well as the ability to operate and maintain application equipment. Responsibilities include loading, transporting, and unloading chemicals, calibrating and adjusting application equipment, and preparing required documentation. **Responsibilities:** * Apply chemicals to corn, sorghum, and soybean crops according to procedures and specifications. * Mix and store chemicals in compliance with safety regulations. * Maintain accurate records of chemical inventory inflows and outflows. * Calibrate, maintain, and operate chemical application equipment. * Keep records of chemical applications. * Support other tasks within the agronomy area as needed. * Coordinate with operational teams to align agronomic practices, data-driven decision-making, and observations, promoting knowledge dissemination and transfer. * Execute all evaluated and approved actions to achieve maximum compliance with seed quantity and quality. * Plan seed production activities to ensure timely availability of necessary resources, including inputs and personnel. * Supervise daily task completion and report progress, efficiency, and ongoing operational needs. * Provide leadership to motivate team members in completing assigned tasks, properly documenting crop cycles, and maintaining organized and accessible records. * Communicate effectively with work teams so they understand their responsibilities and perform more efficiently on a daily basis. * Develop innovative solutions to work situations; try new approaches to handling problems and opportunities at work. * Maintain smooth communication with other production sites for implementing new technologies or protocol updates. * Lead field trials to evaluate new products and technologies. * Adopt and apply current best production practices from internal and external sources. * Collaborate with universities, industry peers, and knowledge networks to share methods and results. * Ensure compliance with EHS&S standards within their area of responsibility. This includes clearly establishing and communicating work rules, verifying staff qualifications for assigned tasks, ensuring proper training and correct task execution, observing and supervising field performance, intervening when deviations occur, and reinforcing safe behaviors through continuous team evaluation. They will oversee ongoing team development, reinforce adherence to Core Ten standards and Life-Saving Rules, and promote a strong, sustainable safety culture. **Requirements:** * Degree in Agricultural Engineering or related field. * Agronomic management experience with key crops: Corn, Sorghum, and Soybeans. * Minimum of 4 years of experience in similar roles, including leading work teams. * Knowledge of chemical mixing, application rates, equipment, calibration, and safety procedures. * Diagnostic and analytical skills. * Knowledge of labeling, chemical safety, and protocols. * Residence in **Puerto Vallarta or nearby areas**. * Flexible schedule and willingness to relocate temporarily for several months when required to support other locations (e.g., Tlajomulco de Zuñiga).
