CNC Operator Technician **Position Objective:** We are an innovative and continuously evolving company focused on improvement and quality to satisfy our customers; the role’s responsibility is to manufacture welded mechanical assemblies by performing programming and machining processes for parts according to precise design and quality specifications, with specialization in CNC and various materials. **Responsibilities:** * Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, polishing, milling, etc. * Understand task specifications and desired outcomes by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc. * Translate instructions into computer commands enabling machines to perform the correct function. * Prepare and load materials and components into machines. * Conduct trial runs to verify whether machines produce outputs conforming to specifications. * Inspect and measure finished products and compare them against requirements to determine whether the process has been completed correctly. * Perform daily, autonomous maintenance checks to ensure proper machine operation. **Education Requirements** * TCU (University Technician) in Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent **Technical Knowledge / Experience** 2 YEARS of experience in: * Operating CNC machines (Toyoda, Hartford, Soraluce, and Okuma) * Programming across different controls (FANUC, OKUMA, and HEIDENHAIN) * Experience using conventional tools (lathes, milling machines, grinders) * Proficiency in M and G programming codes * Correct use, sharpening, and care of cutting tools * Interpretation of blueprints and geometric tolerances * Generation, clamping, and alignment of workpieces and fixtures * Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to perform machine-level adjustments * Proper use of measuring instruments (Vernier calipers, internal micrometers, external micrometers, height gauges, ultrasonic testers, etc.) * Knowledge of setup and machining of welded parts * Calculation of spindle speeds and feed rates under constant speed conditions * Knowledge of 5S principles **Behavioral Competencies** * Flexibility and adaptability; enjoys variety in work practices, opinions, and approaches * Self-motivation; proactively undertakes activities that add value to work * Attention to detail; consistently produces accurate and detailed information * Committed and responsible; actively engages in the process seeking improvements and practical solutions, fulfilling both personal and organizational objectives * Organized; maintains work tools and workstation, understanding their importance for performing tasks effectively * Teamwork; cooperates with colleagues and support departments to achieve and fulfill shared objectives Alstom is the global leader in the mobility sector and takes on the most exciting challenges for tomorrow’s mobility.
