Job Summary: A Circulating Nurse who ensures preparation of the operating room, assists the medical team during surgery, and maintains control of the surgical environment and sterility. Key Responsibilities: 1. Ensures preparation of the operating room and necessary supplies. 2. Assists the medical team and controls the surgical environment. 3. Supervises safety and sterility standards in the operating room. **Medical Center:** HOPE – Medical Center **Position:** Circulating Nurse **Requirements:** * Education: General Nursing Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. * Availability to work 8-hour shifts. * Minimum of 6 months’ work experience in the operating room (circulating role). **Main Responsibilities (Circulating Nurse):** * Verify that the operating room is prepared with required equipment, supplies, and instruments before each procedure. * Request, receive, and provide sterile supplies during surgery without compromising aseptic technique. * Assist in patient preparation and transfer to the operating room. * Collaborate in correctly positioning the patient on the surgical table. * Maintain control of the surgical environment (lighting, temperature, order, and cleanliness). * Assist the medical team by providing additional supplies and equipment during surgery. * Perform counts of supplies, gauze, and instruments jointly with the scrub nurse. * Record and manage supplies used during the procedure. * Assist in compiling and updating the clinical record. * Manage specimen shipment and receipt to the laboratory, if applicable. * Supervise compliance with safety and sterility standards in the operating room. * Report any incidents, equipment failures, or anomalies occurring during the procedure. * Assist in cleaning and preparing the operating room upon completion of surgery.
