Description

Summary: Seeking a highly motivated Research Associate/Researcher to advance the Eumbody System through hands-on molecular and cellular biology workflows. Highlights: 1. Advance a next-generation platform for scFv discovery and CAR-T development 2. Engage in hands-on experimental work and complex workflow execution 3. Opportunity for deep technical growth in CAR-T discovery and screening **Job Title:** Research Associate / Researcher \- Eumbody Group (EBG) **Location:** Toon City, Ehime University Graduate School of Medicine, Ehime, Japan (On\-site) **Department:** Research \& Development, Eumbody Group **Reporting to:** Manager, Eumbody Group (EBG) **Position Summary** The Eumbody Group (EBG) at Optieum is seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Research Associate / Researcher to support and advance the Eumbody System, a next\-generation platform for functional scFv discovery and CAR\-T development. This role is based in Toon, Ehime, and focuses on upstream platform execution, including library construction and flow cytometry\-based quality control and selection. The successful candidate will work closely with the EBG Manager to execute technically demanding molecular and cellular biology workflows that directly impact platform integrity and downstream CAR\-T screening programs. The position is well\-suited for an individual who enjoys hands\-on experimental work, independent troubleshooting, and executing complex workflows, while contributing to the evolution of a discovery platform under experienced scientific leadership. **Key Responsibilities** Platform \& Library Execution (Toon\-based) * Execute molecular biology workflows supporting Eumbody platform development, including DNA/RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, PCR/qPCR. * Oversee and execute plasmid DNA preparation and QC (mini\- and midi\-preps, bacterial transformation) as part of integrated library and viral production workflows. * Produce and handle viral vectors required for gene transduction. * Establish and maintain antigen\-expressing cells and cancer cell lines required for screening and functional assays. * Conduct and analyze flow cytometry\-based assays. * Support and execute cell sorting \- based workflows under established platform guidelines. * Compile and document QC data, gating logic, and experimental context required for transfer to downstream screening teams. * Support the interpretation of downstream screening results in collaboration with the EBG Manager. General Responsibilities * Maintain accurate, well\-organized experimental records and summarize results for internal discussions. * Collaborate closely with the EBG Manager and cross\-functional teams to troubleshoot experiments, ensure data quality, and meet project timelines. * Follow laboratory safety procedures and uphold high standards of scientific rigor, reproducibility, and data integrity. **Note:** This role is execution\-focused, with experimental interpretation and final decision\-making guided by the EBG Manager based on platform\-level oversight. **Qualifications** Required * PhD degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Oncology, or a related field. * Approximately 1\-3 years of hands\-on experience in cell research, or related cellular immunotherapy work (academic or industry). * Strong technical skills in mammalian cell culture. * Practical experience with flow cytometry. * Ability to execute experiments independently and troubleshoot technical issues. * Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills. * Proficiency in English (written and spoken); Japanese language skills are a plus. Preferred * Solid background in molecular biology workflows. * Experience with viral vector production and transduction (retroviral or lentiviral). * Familiarity with multi\-step, high\-risk experimental workflows where data quality and reproducibility are critical. **Why Join Us?** At Optieum, you will join a passionate and scientifically driven team working at the forefront of cancer immunotherapy. This position offers: * Direct involvement in a proprietary, platform\-based R\&D environment, not just single projects. * Close mentorship and collaboration within the Eumbody Group and Optieum R\&D. * Opportunities for deep technical growth in CAR\-T discovery and functional screening platforms. * A focused research environment in Japan with collaboration across domestic and global teams.
