Welding Manufacturing Supervisor

Position Summary: Directly supervise welders, fabricators, sandblasters, and painters, planning production, managing inventory, coordinating logistics, and ensuring personnel safety and training, with the ability to assist in production. Opportunity to participate in hiring and personnel development. Lead and directly supervise welders, fabricators, sandblasters, and painters. Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals. Interpret specifications, blueprints, work orders, and company policies and procedures for workers. Monitor and maintain steel and parts inventory. Essential Functions: Review and assist in designing blueprints to verify their integrity, accuracy, and compliance with standards before distributing them to the shop for production. Assign work orders to welders/fabricators, painters, etc., and manage and track them to ensure projects are completed on time. Monitor and manage steel and parts inventory. Schedule transportation or logistics for galvanizing or powder coating. Coordinate internal fabrication, maintenance, or repair projects or tasks within or across departments. Participate in interviewing, hiring, and training new employees. Assign new employees to experienced workers for mentoring/training. Evaluate employee performance and make compensation recommendations. Make other employment-related recommendations as needed. Schedule monthly manufacturing safety training sessions. Ensure safety procedures comply with OSHA standards and guidelines. Ensure employees are properly trained to operate equipment. Administer preventive equipment maintenance. Inspect work progress, equipment, and tools to verify safety or ensure compliance with specifications. Provide instructions to employees to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and/or safety rules. Expected to function as a working leader and possess the ability to assist in production/fabrication when necessary. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing precise technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Knowledge of all types of metals and relevant welding/fabrication and cutting techniques using appropriate machinery, equipment, and tools, including CNC plasma, laser, waterjet, and lathe machines. Ability to add and subtract accurately.
