





Design, specify, test, validate, and release parts for assigned vehicle families; analyze and resolve part-related failures; propose, validate, and implement cost reductions related to these components. Implement changes or modifications to component parts within assigned vehicle families (Change Notices \- CNs). Request and authorize required testing of systems, parts, and components for assigned vehicle families to verify compliance with design requirements. (Design Verification Plan \& Report). Develop and evaluate assembly and operational tests for parts at assembly plants prior to incorporation into vehicle production (Production Evaluation Request). Determine and issue temporary or permanent approvals for part validations on assigned vehicle families. Analyze and resolve functional and durability failures of parts in units from assigned vehicle families. (Customer Problem Resolution Team, Customer Advocate Group "Tag" Quality Alert, GIMS, Expenses per unit sold and C/1000, Launch Indicators Issues). Develop parts with suppliers according to the "Source Package" process. Support assembly and manufacturing plants in the use and application of specifications and designs reflecting the latest engineering changes. Apply and use design software and hardware for required models based on the assigned “commodity” or components. Complete training and development plans to acquire necessary skills and knowledge to meet objectives. Standardize components and conduct benchmarking (performance, weight, cost efficiency). Prepare FMEAs. Approve or reject requests for temporary or permanent product deviations. Request prototype and batch part manufacturing to resolve warranty issues. Propose and/or prepare cost reduction initiatives (TCR/VO). Issue product change notifications (C.N.'s). Verify the product manufacturing process prior to part production. **Request and obtain approvals for:** Validations, temporary and permanent deviations of the designed product. Obtain information regarding product changes, implementation dates for product changes, service technical bulletins and/or campaigns, product engineering standards, part lists, and engineering drawings. Coordinate DFMEAs and PFMEAs with suppliers. Support pilot phases at assembly plants. Responsible for designing parts in NX (3D \& 2D) based on KBE. **Requirements:** Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, electromechanical, metallurgical, aerospace or related field) **Experience:** More than 5 years in the automotive industry and/or engineering design and product development launch **Special Characteristics:** **Knowledge of:** motor vehicles and their systems, automotive product assembly and manufacturing processes, validation of automotive parts and systems. **Languages:** Advanced English **Preferred:** CCD system, CNs, NX, Codep, Ebom, STV DFSS Greenbelt/Blackbelt Certified Reactive Greenbelt/Blackbelt Certified Proficient in KBE
