Mentor senior engineers and drive architectural governance ### **Description** This role provides strategic technical leadership by architecting, designing, and delivering large\-scale, mission\-critical enterprise systems. It drives the company’s long\-term technology vision, establishes architectural standards, ensures platform scalability and reliability, and guides engineering teams in building high\-quality, high\-performance solutions that support business growth and operational excellence.### **Key Responsibilities** * Architect and design large\-scale, mission\-critical enterprise systems across backend and frontend ecosystems. * Define and drive the technical strategy, architectural standards, and long\-term technology roadmap. * Lead the design of distributed systems, microservices, event\-driven architectures, and highly available, fault\-tolerant platforms. * Provide expert guidance in Java ecosystems, REST/SOAP services, JSON processing, concurrency, and performance optimization. * Evaluate, select, and integrate modern frontend and backend frameworks and emerging technologies. * Design, optimize, and manage relational and non\-relational databases, including data modeling and high\-volume transactional environments. * Oversee containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring cloud\-native principles and zero\-downtime deployments. * Architect enterprise\-wide messaging solutions using Kafka, JMS, AMQP, and event\-streaming patterns. * Mentor senior engineers, conduct detailed design reviews, and enforce architectural governance. * Lead cross\-functional technical initiatives and influence stakeholders with clear, strategic technical direction. * Integrate and innovate with specialized or industry\-specific technologies such as Rockwell FTPC, Vaadin Framework, and Pnut Script. * Produce high\-quality technical documentation and represent engineering in strategic discussions and decision\-making. ### **Skills, Knowledge \& Expertise** * Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. * 7\+ years of experience architecting and delivering large\-scale, mission\-critical enterprise systems. * Deep expertise in system architecture, distributed systems, microservices, and event\-driven platforms. * Advanced proficiency in Java ecosystems, REST/SOAP services, JSON processing, concurrency, and performance tuning. * Strong hands\-on experience with modern web technologies such as React.js, Node.js, or similar frameworks. * Extensive knowledge of relational and non\-relational databases, SQL optimization, replication, and data modeling. * Proven experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), cloud\-native patterns, and CI/CD automation. * Strong background with messaging platforms such as Kafka, JMS, or AMQP and event\-streaming architectures. * Experience working with specialized technologies including Rockwell FTPC, Vaadin Framework, and Pnut Script. * Demonstrated leadership in mentoring senior engineers and driving architectural governance. * Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills. **Specific language requirements** Advanced or fluent level of English.### **About Align Technology** **Your growth and well\-being:** At Align, every smile matters.
