Requisition ID: 240322 Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high\-performing culture. **Ssr Advanced Backend Developer** ================================== Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend applications using Java, ensuring quality, security, and scalability, while technically leading the team and evolving current architectures. ### **Key Responsibilities** * Design and implement efficient and scalable backend solutions with **Java and Spring Boot**. * Define and evolve architectures (microservices, event\-driven, hexagonal). * Optimize performance and resolve bottlenecks in existing systems. * Integrate APIs, external services, and SQL and NoSQL databases. * Technically lead the team through **code reviews, mentoring, and best practices**. * Ensure software quality and security (Clean Code, SOLID, OWASP). * Implement unit and integration tests. * Collaborate with Frontend, DevOps, and QA teams in agile environments. * Participate in **CI/CD, cloud, and containerization** processes. ### **Essential Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). * **5+ years of backend development experience with Java**. * Proficiency in **Java (JDK 11\+), Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA**. * Experience designing **REST APIs** (GraphQL is desirable). * Experience with **SQL and NoSQL databases** (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.). * Experience with **messaging/event systems** (Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar). * Proficiency with **Git** and collaborative development environments. * Knowledge of **cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)**. * Intermediate/advanced English (technical reading and writing). * Focus on quality, security, leadership, and teamwork. **We Offer**: * Grocery vouchers * Major medical expense insurance * Life insurance * 30 days of year-end bonus * 50% vacation premium * 20 vacation days from the first year * Gympass/Totalpass * On-site cafeteria * Parking * Flexible and preferential banking products * Growth opportunities **Apply now and grow with us!** *Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
