Join us and discover your potential at a global company leading the way in shaping the future of the mining industry. ##### **Purpose** Ensure timely delivery of the rolling 13-week mine plan and lead short-term (daily, weekly, and monthly) mining planning and scheduling, ensuring compliance with the Business Plan/Forecast, optimization of resource extraction, alignment with operational objectives, and consistent promotion of a strong safety culture and Newmont’s values. ##### **Responsibilities** Prepare and manage short-term (daily, weekly, and monthly) mine plans, ensuring their operational feasibility and alignment with production targets. Coordinate with geology, drilling, blasting, and production teams to ensure correct execution of plans. Supervise ongoing mining activities, making real-time adjustments in response to deviations or contingencies. Analyze operational data and performance metrics to assess plan effectiveness and propose continuous improvements. Administer and oversee compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, conducting audits and risk assessments. Provide on-site technical support to resolve short-term operational issues and technical constraints. Prepare detailed reports on mining planning, progress, performance indicators, and improvement recommendations. Maintain accurate records and documentation of short-term plans, ensuring information integrity and accessibility. Lead by example, promoting a safe, collaborative, and productive work environment aligned with Newmont’s policies and values.##### **Requirements** Strong understanding of mining planning principles, execution methods, performance analysis, and optimization. In-depth knowledge of open-pit mining, equipment capabilities, and operational requirements. Ability to interpret technical data and translate it into actionable recommendations. Familiarity with production metrics, KPIs, and performance reporting. Operational leadership skills, sound technical judgment, and effective decision-making ability. Certification as Inspectorate of Mines Shift Boss (desirable).##### **Experience** Minimum 4 years of experience in the metal mining sector, specifically in open-pit (open-cut) mines, with demonstrated focus on short-term mining planning. Advanced experience in mining sequencing and design of short-term plans for open-pit operations using HxGN MinePlan 3D. Proven proficiency with open-pit mining software, including AutoCAD for technical drawing preparation and ProVision for equipment navigation. Advanced data analysis and reporting skills using Microsoft Excel and MS Office tools. Demonstrated operational leadership experience in open-pit mining, with solid technical judgment and decision-making capability in operational environments.##### **Professional Education** Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, with specialization in short-term mining planning.
