ATM Certification and Testing Analyst (QA)

Description

Job Summary: ATM Certification and Testing Analyst responsible for ensuring the quality, stability, and security of transactional software and hardware in ATMs, designing and executing end-to-end tests. Key Highlights: 1. Ensures the quality and stability of software and hardware in ATMs. 2. Performs end-to-end testing, including ISO 8583, NDC, and XFS. 3. Works with leading banking technologies such as NCR, Hyosung, FIS, SQL, and Linux. The ATM Certification and Testing Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality, stability, and security of transactional software and hardware across the ATM network. Their primary function is to design, execute, and document end-to-end tests, ensuring financial and operational flows comply with required standards prior to production release. To achieve this, they interact directly with servers, operating systems, databases, and industry-standard payment protocols governing hardware-software communication and transactional exchange. Key Functions and Responsibilities: Hardware and Software Testing: Execute functional, integrated, and certification tests on Hyosung and NCR Corporation ATMs, ensuring correct performance of physical and logical components. Platform Certification: Validate and certify ATM applications deployed on specialized KAL and DSC platforms, ensuring operational stability and regulatory compliance. Test Data Management (Multi-platform BDD): Configure, set up, and validate debit/credit cards and bank accounts by querying and manipulating data in SQL, DB2, and Informix engines to simulate complex transactional scenarios. Transactional Switch Configuration: Validate critical operational parameters in the FIS switch, ensuring proper ATM assignment, group configuration, software loads, security keys, and cash dispensing tables. End-to-End (E2E) Testing and Protocol Analysis: Execute complete transactional test cycles from the ATM to the authorizer, identifying deviations, reporting defects, and documenting technical findings. This includes: Interpretation and validation of financial messaging under the ISO 8583 standard. Analysis of communication frames based on the NDC emulation protocol. Validation of the hardware abstraction layer through the XFS architecture. Server Monitoring and Diagnostics: Access test environment servers to review logs, analyze transaction traces, and validate backend payment system behavior. Financial Flow Analysis: Validate logic and correct processing of transactions for both debit and credit cards, including withdrawals, balance inquiries, deposits, and loan disbursement or repayment flows. Technical Knowledge: ATM Systems: Proficiency in NCR and Hyosung hardware/software. Base Platforms: Knowledge of KAL and DSC architectures. Transactional Switches: Operational experience with FIS Switch (or similar systems such as Base24, Postilion, etc.). Industry Standards and Protocols (Mandatory): * In-depth understanding of ISO 8583 message structure (bitmaps, data fields, response codes). Understanding and diagnostics of the XFS interface for ATM peripherals. Knowledge of the NDC ATM emulation protocol (or equivalents such as DDC). Operating Systems and Servers: Operational-level proficiency and command-line expertise in Linux and AIX (Unix) environments for error troubleshooting and transaction log analysis. Robust Databases: Proficiency in structured query language (SQL) and hands-on experience interacting with enterprise data ecosystems such as DB2 and Informix.
