***FACILITIES TECHNICIAN*** **POSITION SUMMARY:** Performs basic inspections, repairs, installations, and building maintenance related to electrical, plumbing, air conditioning systems, and aesthetic details of the building. Responsibilities also include reconfiguring and assembling furniture and workstations. When required, performs data collection tasks and is able to read basic blueprints. This position requires knowledge of applicable safety procedures and measures in all areas requiring intervention, as well as common sense, practices, and procedures within the facilities and/or building maintenance field. This position will follow established work or departmental guidelines. Immediate and direct supervision is required. Primary functions do not involve decision-making. **BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Performs repairs, inspections, installations, and building maintenance related to electricity, plumbing, and air conditioning. * Work area includes all interior spaces of the building (production areas, offices, meeting rooms, etc.) as well as exterior areas (yards, parking lots, gardens, rooftops, etc.) * Assembles and reconfigures furniture and workstations. * Highly focused on customer \& facility user satisfaction. * Capable of operating scissor lifts and articulating platforms, and working at heights, always following safety procedures. * Knows the function and operation of fire extinguishers and fire hydrants in the fire protection system. * Requests necessary parts and supplies to complete maintenance projects. * Performs basic general building maintenance tasks such as locksmith work, hanging whiteboards, patching and painting walls, minor floor repairs. * Operates various manual and electric tools. * Capable of lifting objects, always following safety procedures. * Ability to work in awkward positions, bending or twisting the body, sometimes in confined spaces. * Other tasks assigned by supervisor. * Interacts with contractors when required by supervisor. * AutoCAD knowledge is a plus **WORKING CONDITIONS** * Location: Plant in Mexicali, Baja California * Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors, including manufacturing areas, yards, parking lots, gardens, and building roofs. Occasionally may involve exposure to outdoor conditions such as heat, rain, or cold. * Physical requirements: lifting, carrying, standing for long periods, working at heights using lifts and/or ladders, etc. * Occasional overtime work in the evenings or weekends may be required. **SKILLS and/or REQUIREMENTS:** * Basic knowledge in at least one construction area: electricity, plumbing, or air conditioning. * Skills to diagnose failures or identify problems. * General maintenance knowledge. * Good verbal communication. * Good written communication (desirable) * Ability to read blueprints (desirable) * Certification for working at heights DC\-3 (desirable) * Good health **EXPERIENCE:** **Minimum:** * 1\-3 years of experience in at least one construction area: electricity, plumbing, or air conditioning. **Desirable:** * 1\-3 years of experience as a Facilities or Building Technician **EDUCATION:** High school diploma, technical degree, or equivalent.
