We invite you to participate in our challenge as: Environmental and Quality Executive **Termoelectrica de Mexicali, S. de R.L. de C.V.** **Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico.** **Position Objective:** Coordinate and, where applicable, execute actions to ensure the implementation, application, and improvement of the Environmental Management System, as well as ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and corporate requirements across energy generation business units’ projects and operations. **Responsibilities:** * Report to senior management on the performance of the Environmental Management System for review, including recommendations for improvement * Implement plans, programs, and actions derived from the Environmental Management System based on national, international, and corporate standards and requirements; * Conduct site visits and inspections, follow up on, and, where applicable, execute actions arising from generated Action Plans; * Participate in obtaining permits from various local, state, and federal government agencies related to compliance with general provisions and conditions associated with each project/operation (SEMARNAT, CNA, PROFEPA, etc.); * Address and, where applicable, lead internal and corporate audits and governmental inspections conducted at business units; propose and coordinate corresponding Action Plans derived from such audits/inspections to ensure timely and proper resolution under the Environmental Management System; * Ensure follow-up and compliance with operational and project requirements to maintain national, international, and corporate environmental compliance certifications applied to business units: PROFEPA; ISO 14001; etc.; as well as serve as the Environmental Management System ISO 14001 management representative\. * Identify environmental risks and impacts across various activities and processes carried out within business units, as well as during new project development, and participate in investigations of environmental incidents/accidents and emergencies, following up on preventive/corrective measures to prevent recurrence; * Participate in identifying training needs for all personnel within business units, as well as deliver company-defined environmental training programs; * Prepare reports required by permits and resolutions issued for each business unit (quarterly, semi-annual, annual, etc., from SEMARNAT, CNA, PROFEPA, etc.). * Ensure the Environmental Management System is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with the requirements of this International Standard; * Report to senior management on the performance of the Environmental Management System for review, including recommendations for improvement. **Knowledge:** * Microsoft Office suite * Technical and regulatory knowledge in environmental and administrative matters * Familiarity with environmental, safety, and hygiene regulations, laws, and other regulatory or corporate instruments, as well as guidelines and requirements of the Integrated Management System * Knowledge of ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18000 management systems * ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 certification (as an implementer or Internal Auditor) is desirable **Education:** * Completed degree in any of the following fields: Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Ecological Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Geology, Biology (degree holder) * Training in Safety and Environment * English proficiency: 70% **Work Experience** * 3–5 years of experience implementing ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 * 5 years of experience in environmental management, including permit handling and management of environmental programs to comply with SEMARNAT and PROFEPA.
