Position Summary: The Molding Operations Engineer develops robust processes and documentation for the manufacturing of plastic components, supervising, supporting, and optimizing molding operations. Coordination of continuous improvement and cost reduction projects ***Position Objective:*** The Molding Operations Engineer develops robust molding processes and corresponding documentation for the manufacturing of plastic components. Job Responsibilities Supervise compliance with plastic injection molding area operations and related transfers. Provide technical team support for molding process troubleshooting. Develop work instructions, operations, rework procedures, sampling plans, deviations, etc., all related to molding. Define the layout of the molding equipment area. Collaborate and coordinate with Design Engineering for any new processes or products. Participate in the customer complaint analysis team for developing Molding 8D reports. Supervise the operation of the grinding room for regrind usage and disposal. Participate in the launch or transfer of molding products and manufacturing processes. Manage molding-related cost reduction, waste, scrap, defect, etc. projects. Develop molding area expense-saving optimization and continuous improvement projects. Coordinate the validation process for new models through scientific molding analysis. Coordinate with Quality Engineering to evaluate discrepant molding materials. Quote and purchase mold, press, and peripheral equipment spare parts and manufacturing materials. Develop and document Failure Mode Analysis. Quote and purchase tools for molding technicians. Contribute to developing standardized work for key process operations. Maintain up-to-date standardized work and report and take action to resolve non-compliance. Execute assigned P3 improvement projects on time and as scheduled. Academic Level: Engineering Knowledge of molds and plastic injection molding processes Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Minitab, and Vision software Strong verbal expression and effective communication skills for interacting with customers, suppliers, or corporate personnel.
