Promotion of consistent, high-quality engineering solutions **Date:** May 5, 2026 **Location:** Mexicali, BCN, MX, CP 21385 **Company:** PACCAR * **Primary Job Objective.** Responsible for technical and personnel leadership in communication systems for heavy-duty vehicles, primarily focused on SAE J1939 architectures supporting autonomous vehicle platforms, among others. This role owns the end-to-end vehicle network design, ensuring scalability, compliance with functional safety regulations, and robustness in cybersecurity. The supervisor leads and mentors engineers, manages network interfaces, oversees multifunctional and supplier interactions, and promotes consistent, high-quality engineering solutions across the vehicle lifecycle. * **Knowledge and Experience.** * Professional degree (Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field). * Relevant certifications in engineering, functional safety, systems engineering, or related disciplines (preferred). * Training or certification in Six Sigma / DFSS (preferred). * More than 6 years of prior work experience. * English language proficiency: 90% * Strong knowledge of SAE J1939 CAN and CAN-FD communication protocols, including PGN/SPN structures, address allocation, diagnostics, and transport protocols. * Experience supporting functional safety designs per ISO 26262\. * Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts per ISO 21434\. * Ability to manage moderately complex and partially defined engineering problems with limited technical guidance. * Experience leading or supporting product launches, integration testing, and field problem resolution. * Demonstrated leadership in project management and execution, including prioritization and delegation. * Clear communication skills appropriate for the audience. * Knowledge of the automotive, heavy transportation, or similar industry. * **Competencies.** Technical: Product knowledge, electrical/electronic architecture development, knowledge of automotive communication protocols (SAE J1939 and CAN-FD), schematic interpretation, corporate standards, vehicle and component testing, administration (planning, organizing, directing, and monitoring), KPI measurement, ISO procedure knowledge, personnel supervision, project management, analytical ability, process tracking and control, multitasking, negotiation, problem solving, effective presentations.
