




Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, operation, and preventive and corrective maintenance of industrial refrigeration systems and other electromechanical equipment in the plant. Operation and monitoring of ammonia systems with emphasis on safety Description and details of responsibilities The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, operation, and preventive and corrective maintenance of industrial refrigeration systems and other electromechanical equipment in the plant. Their primary objective is to guarantee operational efficiency, continuity, and safety, complying with the company’s quality, safety, and hygiene standards as well as applicable regulations. **Main Responsibilities** 1\. **Preventive Maintenance** * Perform scheduled preventive maintenance routines on ammonia (NH₃) and other refrigerant-based refrigeration systems. (Desirable) * Inspect oil levels, pressures, valves, filters, evaporators, compressors, condensers, and electrical controls. * Record inspection and maintenance results in logbooks, reporting any anomalies detected. * Verify operation of motors, fans, pumps, and electrical panels. 2\. **Corrective Maintenance** * Diagnose and repair failures in refrigeration, electrical, or electromechanical equipment. * Replace defective components (valves, sensors, contacts, fuses, relays, etc.). * Coordinate technical shutdowns for repairs with the maintenance supervisor to avoid operational disruption. * Document work performed and validate equipment functionality prior to release. 3\. **Refrigeration Systems** * Operate and monitor ammonia systems according to safety procedures. * Measure and adjust refrigerant pressure, temperature, and flow parameters. * Conduct leak-tightness tests and refrigerant gas leak detection in compliance with environmental regulations. * Support refrigerant recharging or recovery, and cleaning of piping or heat exchangers. 4\. **Electrical and Control Systems** * Read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams. * Diagnose electrical faults in control panels, variable frequency drives, and motor starters. * Perform basic electrical connections in accordance with safety standards. Experience and Requirements * Education: Technical high school diploma, technical degree, or TSU in **Refrigeration, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field**. * Experience: Minimum **2 verifiable years** of experience in maintenance of industrial refrigeration equipment. **Required Knowledge:** * Operation, diagnosis, and maintenance of **ammonia (NH₃) refrigeration systems. (DESIRABLE)** * Handling of other refrigerants (R134a, R404a, R22, CO₂, etc.). * Basic electricity and ability to read electrical and mechanical diagrams. * **Safety and hygiene standards**, with special emphasis on ammonia handling. * Use of measuring tools (multimeter, pressure gauges, vacuum gauge). * Competencies: **Responsibility, teamwork, initiative, problem-solving.** * Availability for **shift work, on-call duty, and emergency response**.
