Description and details of activities • The Physical-Chemical Assistant Analyst is responsible for conducting analyses and tests on environmental samples using physicochemical methods. Their primary objective is to evaluate the physical and chemical composition of samples to determine their quality and compliance with environmental standards. Some specific responsibilities may include: • Performing physicochemical tests and analyses on environmental samples—such as water, soil, air, and waste—using specialized methods and equipment. • Water monitoring and sampling: Collecting water samples from various sources, following established protocols and standards. Using specialized equipment to measure key water parameters, such as pH, temperature, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, chlorine level, nutrients, heavy metals, and organic contaminants. o Equipment maintenance: Performing regular maintenance on monitoring and analytical equipment, ensuring optimal operating conditions. Calibrating and verifying instruments as necessary and maintaining appropriate records of maintenance activities. • Preparing solutions and reagents required for analyses. • Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, such as spectrophotometers, chromatographs, pH meters, balances, among others. • Recording and analyzing test results, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. • Interpreting results and preparing detailed reports on the analyses performed. • Adhering to laboratory safety and quality procedures and protocols. • Collaborating with other team members to improve analytical methods and laboratory efficiency. Experience and requirements  Solid knowledge of physicochemical analytical techniques, such as spectroscopy, chromatography, titration, pH measurement, among others.  Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment used in physicochemical analyses.  Knowledge of preparing chemical solutions and reagents.  Skills to interpret and analyze physicochemical test results.  Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards related to physicochemical analyses.  Ability to work accurately and meticulously, following laboratory safety and quality protocols. Prepares and delivers daily control coupons runs (FIC, coating, plasma, welding, strip). 12\. Review, tracking number, assigns controlled materials and released daily. 13\. Supports metallurgical engineering projects. 14\. Check daily concentration of acid tubs in chemical cleaning and measuring PH rinse tubs. 15\. Daily coordinates and controls the provision of acids and rinse water to neutralize the Water treatment department. 16\. Certain other activities or responsibilities inherent to the position. **Requirements:** * Experience: Technical career as a laboratory technician and/or truncated or completed career in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar. * One year of experience in similar position. * Knowledge: Basic Chemistry, Metallographic and chemistry Techniques and computer skills. Responsible for preparing control coupons and evaluating all metallographic inspections. Responsible for preparing mixtures and chemical solutions and for receiving all controlled material. Responsible for performing all concentration analyses, pH measurements, and inventory control for both plants.
