Job Description and Activity Details **Primary Job Function:** The material handler position is responsible for material handling tasks to support production operations and other internal customers. The material handler will perform one or more of the following tasks: parts storage, parts picking, parts replenishment, and parts kit preparation. **Functions and Responsibilities:** * Handle, verify, move, and process material transactions quickly, efficiently, and accurately. * Process materials and verify correct part numbers, quantities, and lot/serial numbers (including labeling and certifications). * Follow the "first in, first out" (FIFO) principle when storing, picking, and replenishing materials. * Collect, organize, and deliver materials for work orders and cover shortages. * Follow specified routes within the manufacturing plant for material replenishment. * Use operational software to record data transactions (receiving, transfers, shipments). * Maintain warehouse safety and organization according to 5S principles. * Operate material handling equipment (forklifts and pallet jacks) in accordance with safety policies. * Identify and report issues disrupting operational supplies or material movement that could become problems for the entire Mexicali operation. * Comply with material management policies and procedures. * Meet employee training record requirements. * Receive and process electronic or paper MT request transactions. * Replenish operational supplies (MRO) in coordination with the procurement team. * Support special material requests such as sweep inventories or purges.
