They are responsible for collecting data, generating reports, and developing tools that enable simple use and understanding of information used to improve quality and reduce costs. This position executes elements of the Quality Engineering function.**Key Functions and Responsibilities** --------------------------------- ### **Quality Laboratory** * Knowledge of technology and systems used in the quality laboratory to validate conformance with specifications. * Understanding of drawings, specifications, and best practices for dimensional and geometric tolerancing (GD&T). * Ability to learn measurement equipment programming. * Understanding of equipment calibration requirements. * Knowledge of tooling function and its calibration. ### **Inspection Execution** * Work with quality engineering, design engineering, and manufacturing engineering to determine whether the product or component meets specifications. Complete inspections and provide summarized results that are easy to understand. * When parts do not meet requirements, investigate and recommend modifications to parts or processes to ensure conformance. * Review and recommend modifications to preliminary engineering designs for quality and cost purposes. ### **Finished Product Audits** * Conduct finished product audits with supporting documentation to effectively communicate part/process evaluations to the relevant departments—design, manufacturing, procurement, or service. ### **Quality Analysis** * Participate in supplier reviews, audits, and certifications. * Stay informed about trends and developments in product design and manufacturing processes that may impact quality and cost. Participate in planning and implementing such trends and developments. ### **Red Tag Execution** * Participate in the identification, evaluation, communication, and disposition of non-conforming components or products. Recommend and implement improved process controls when appropriate. * Investigate manufacturing issues, measure parts, and make recommendations to resolve and/or correct such issues. **Position Requirements** ------------------------- * Advanced knowledge of MS Excel. * Practical knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Project. * Competency in metrology. * Basic computer skills. * Ability to follow written instructions. * 0–2 years of experience. * Less than 10% travel.
