DESCRIPTION We are seeking a proactive and organized Makers and Robotics Lab Assistant to support the daily operations of our elementary Makers and Robotics Lab. This role involves assisting in the preparation, supervision, and facilitation of projects based on the IPC ICT \& Computing and Design Technology syllabi, ensuring a safe, engaging, and inspiring learning environment for students. ### **Key Responsibilities:** * Support the Makers and Robotics Lab Teacher in preparing materials, tools, and equipment for lessons and projects. * Assist students during hands\-on activities, ensuring safe and effective use of makerspace tools, machinery, and robotics kits. * Maintain organization and cleanliness of the lab, including inventory management and equipment maintenance. * Support the setup and operation of machines such as 3D printers, laser cutters, electronics kits, and robotics platforms. * Monitor students to ensure adherence to safety protocols and positive behavior within the lab. * Help troubleshoot basic technical issues with tools, equipment, and student projects as directed by the teacher. * Assist in documenting projects, taking photos, and organizing student work displays when needed. * Contribute to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and innovative learning environment. * Carry out additional tasks as assigned to support lab operations and school events (e.g., STEM fairs). ### **Requirements:** **Education:** High school diploma required; technical diploma or ongoing university studies in Education, Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Design Technology, or a related field preferred. **Experience:** * Previous experience working with children is highly desirable. * Familiarity with makerspace tools and robotics platforms. **Skills \& Attributes:** * Strong spoken and written **English proficiency**. * Organized, reliable, and proactive in assisting teachers and students. * Willingness to learn and operate various makerspace tools and technologies safely. * Patient, positive, and supportive approach to working with young learners. * Basic computer skills; familiarity with coding, design software, or robotics platforms is an advantage. ### **Preferred Qualifications:** * Certification or training in makerspace, robotics, or STEM education support roles. * First aid certification is an advantage.
